#Stolen realm game update
You can read all the details about this update here. This update also brings other content to the game, like two new enemy types (the Hand Clan and the Backguards, each with new bosses), and a lot of quality-of-life updates. The Monk also has high mobility, can dash between enemies, and gets passive bonuses that increase damage based on how far they’ve moved in the battlefield, rewarding a mobile, agile playstyle. The Monk can, for example, kick an enemy into hazards like fire barrels to cause an explosion, pull enemies towards a Warrior’s Slam, or run to the aid of threatened allies by kicking an enemy away from them. The main role of the Monk is to support other characters’ special powers, complementing them with mighty tactical synergies. Thanks to their high mobility, they can charge across the battlefield and dash between enemies to help their companions wherever they are, creating havoc around the whole map. This allows players to take control of the battlefield, using these new skills to reposition foes to their advantage. Inspired by its fantasy archetype, the Monk is a powerful martial artist with the ability to move enemies around, pulling them and knocking them back with their special skills. Heroes of the realm, a new companion joins your ranks: the mighty Monk! Indie studio Burst2Flame announces a major update for the turn-based tactical RPG and dungeon crawler looter Stolen Realm, which will feature a brand new character class: the Monk. I also use SheetDB as a way of converting the spreadsheet data to JSON.STOLEN REALM GETS THE MONKS AS A NEW CHARACTER CLASS The new major update of Stolen Realm brings a new character class to the game, as well as several new enemy types and bosses, and lots of balance and quality-of-life changes It gets deployed to Github Pages as a static site. This React app was bootstrapped with create-react-app and uses emotion for the styling system. When the app is loaded with a build in the URL, it unpacks it and displays the build exactly as it was when it was shared.

I didn't want to have to store anything on a server, so build data is cleverly encoded into a query string parameter every time you make a change.

Sharing builds is as easy as copying and pasting the URL. All of the skill tooltips are as close of a match as I could get to what you see in the game client, including damage calculations. The trees are mostly data-driven, based on a dataset I have in a spreadsheet which I convert to JSON and use directly in the project. This project aims to be a web-based replica of the in-game skill trees. As with many RPGs, the game interface can make it challenging to do this and many people also like to be able to share builds with their friends or get ideas from other people in the community. There's a lot of satisfaction to be had just from playing around with them and figuring out what your next character build will be. One of my favourite things about the game is the deep, classless skill trees that allow for endless build combinations. Stolen Realm is a turn-based dungeon crawler RPG.
